Although it may sound far-fetched to some, the usage of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) in the classroom can 鈥渢ransform the classroom experience for students,鈥� according to Walden University's researchers. Even though it may sound like an unlikely practice, the concept of utilizing the world鈥檚 newest technology in an educational setting isn鈥檛 anything new at all.

草榴成人社区 will host the Midwest Association for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies (MAMEIS) Annual Conference on Friday, April 9. The conference will be held in a virtual format and brings together talented scholars from the region.

On March 24 from 3-4 PM, 草榴成人社区 will host alumnus Josh Burns for a presentation about the Diplomatic Security Service branch of the U.S. Department of State. Burns currently serves as a Watch Officer at the Diplomatic Security Command Center in Rosslyn, Virginia. He graduated from 草榴成人社区 in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with an emphasis in Security Studies.

On February 25, 2021, two advertising campaigns made by 草榴成人社区 students won silver at the American Advertising Awards, formally known as ADDYS. These awards are offered by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The AAF has 5,000 college chapters across the country and allows students to compete against professionals in the ADDYS. Just in St. Louis, there were 342 entries for the ADDYS advertising campaign, and 草榴成人社区 students, including Mia Tebbe and Kris McKay, won silver with their campaign.

In 2017, the National MS Society funded a study that focused on documenting how many people in the United States were affected by Multiple Sclerosis, as the last study had not been conducted since 1975. The result provided a staggering number, one that doubled the amount the leading experts had initially estimated: nearly 1 million people in the United States of America were living with MS. Based on the intense prevalence of this disease, and the disastrous impact it has made on families鈥攅motionally, physically, and economically鈥攊t is clear that now, more than ever, new ideas are necessary in order to make an impact in the MS landscape and bring greater relief to the affected community.

草榴成人社区 student Nadia Maddex was selected as this year's St. Louis Symphony In Unison Scholar. This program is open for undergraduate students who are participating in the arts such as musicians, composers and music educators. Maddex is a vocalist and sings 1st soprano. According to Maddex, this is a great honor and it not only comes with a scholarship. 鈥淚n that program, I am provided with mentoring from St. Louis Symphony staff, as well as given special performance, conference, workshop and leadership opportunities.鈥�

Gillian Parrish, an Assistant Professor of Writing at 草榴成人社区, recently published her article 鈥淏oosting Student Motivation Through Connected Reflection鈥� in an online publication called Faculty Focus. This publication publishes work from professors and educators all over the U.S., and this is Professor Parrish鈥檚 fourth time being published on their website.

Inspired by wanting to better understand her oldest son, Michael, and his concentration 鈥渋ssue鈥� that causes him anxiety, Dr. Krista Tucciarone, or Dr. 鈥淭ucc,鈥� personally reached out to her own students at 草榴成人社区 about their own 鈥渋ssues" and how these issues might be causing them anxiety, too. After an 鈥渙verwhelming number鈥� of students relaying that they experienced plights similar to Michael, Dr. Tucc knew she had to delve deeper into the problem to 鈥渄etermine the degree anxiety affects college students.鈥�

Sydney Hembrough uses her 草榴成人社区 classroom experience to help make a name for herself in the world of social media and content creation. Hembrough is an online student studying digital marketing with an emphasis in social media and digital content strategy, and she works on the web team for the Linden Gold.

Dr. Travis McMaken, professor of Philosophy and Religion and Assistant Dean of the School of Humanities, has recently been recognized as a person of positivity among 草榴成人社区鈥檚 faculty and staff. The 鈥淧erson of Positivity鈥� initiative was started by the faculty and staff at our university about a year ago.
